I write non-fiction articles every once in awhile. Though I prefer to write fiction, I am finding it easier to write non-fiction while my kids are little.

SPRING 2001 NEWS FLASH! C.A.P.E.E. Newsletter (Catholic Association of Parents for Excellence in Education) published my article, "Be Nice."

JAN 2001 NEWS FLASH! Catholic Dossier published my letter to the editor in their Jan/Feb 2001 issue.

NOV 2000 NEWS FLASH! Software Development Magazine published my article Join the Revolution in their November 2000 issue.

JAN 1999 NEWS FLASH! Sursum Corda published an article of mine in their Winter 1999 issue. The article covers an interview with George Neumayr, the editor of the San Francisco Faith, a Catholic Lay magazine in support of the Magisterium.

I have written an anthropological science fiction novel called Dua'koon. I submitted this years ago and got far enough to get a rejection letter, after they held the book for months, that had suggestions for improvement. I agreed with some of the ideas and even started working on them. Then I had children, and I haven't looked at it since!

I have finished the first draft of the sequel to Dua'koon, which is titled Punanta. I think I have a pretty decent first draft, but there is a lot more to do. Right now, there's just too much going on in too small a space. I need to elaborate more. This will also lead to a longer novel, which would be good. Of course, I'm not working on this either as homeschooling the kids takes too much energy. Articles are about all I write these days.

FEBRUARY 2000 NEWS FLASH! The online magazine The Healing Inn, now defunct, published my short story, "Holy War," as the first page of their Feb. issue.

JULY 1999 NEWS FLASH! The magazine Lost Worlds published my short story, "Gifts," in their July 1999 issue. My story won the "best of sci-fi" award for the issue!

JUNE 1997 NEWS FLASH! Princeton Alumni Weekly published my poem, "BCQ," in their Spring Reunion supplement issue. It looks very nice, and I'm quite proud of it.

Poetry is not a main focus, since I spend most of my writing time on novels and short stories. But I do enjoy writing poetry. It carries a strength and impact different from the other modes of writing.
